Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool only asks for your gender, date of birth, general health level, tobacco use, coverage amount and term. Those six items produce carrier quotes. Your name, email, phone number and detailed health information are only collected if you choose to move forward with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The prices shown are what each carrier quotes for your health class and the coverage you selected. The carrier confirms your actual rate class after underwriting, which may result in a better rate, confirmation of your class, or a higher rate. Everything on this site is an estimate for information only and not a guarantee of cost.
What happens when I click Apply?
You move into a secure application prefilled with your answers and continue on the carriers' application platform. You can pause and return to it later, and you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency, handles the application process.
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, the amount you're applying for and your health profile. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting for eligible applicants under certain age and amount limits, deciding based on application answers and records rather than a medical exam. Each quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.
Is a longer term better?
A term should match the years when your family would struggle financially without your income: a mortgage that will take 20 years to pay off, children who need support until they're independent, a business loan with a set payoff date. Longer terms lock in your rate for more years but cost more per month. The quote tool lets you compare rates across 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year terms side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not capture your name or contact information. We do not sell or share personal data, and our website measurement is entirely cookieless. See the privacy policy for details on exactly what information is collected and by whom.
