Broadway Plaza opened in 1951 as Contra Costa County's first major retail center and catalyzed the growth of downtown Walnut Creek into a retail and cultural hub. The center is designed as an open-air plaza, featuring more than 80 retail and dining establishments spread across the property at 1275 Broadway.

The plaza houses major department stores including Nordstrom and Macy's, along with specialty retailers spanning fashion, home goods, technology and dining. In addition to shopping, the center offers Life Time Walnut Creek, a luxury fitness facility, and Industrious, a co-working space. Diablo Magazine has recognized Broadway Plaza as the best shopping center in the East Bay region.

For families, shopping centers are often gathering places for back-to-school trips, gift shopping and time together. Those regular routines and the financial stability they represent—a household with the resources to spend time at local centers and support local businesses—are exactly what a life insurance policy is meant to protect.
